Laurie Pehar Borsh has been in the PR and Promotions business for over 16 years, providing clients with cutting edge marketing and social media solutions for communications and business development. She has used her passion for promoting people, places and things to create a reputation for her unique and intense brand.
Laurie's instincts and skills for providing personal service to executives and organizations began with her work at F&B Restaurants and continued with her early career as a fitness instructor at La Costa Resort & Spa as well as on-board the Cunard Cruise Lines. She simultaneously developed an interest in creating her own PR/Promotions business while she was teaching fitness classes and acting as a personal trainer.
Laurie rolled out her current career in 1987, responsible for public relations, business development and marketing in her role as Promotions Director for The Sports Club Company. Shortly thereafter, Laurie launched her first venture, Behind the Scenes Unlimited. The Sports Club Company became a loyal client as did Reebok International and the Walt Disney Company among others.
In addition to establishing Behind the Scenes to serve her corporate clients, Laurie began developing a personal promotions business for solo professionals, executives and business owners. This specialty focused on marketing and public relations services to individual professionals and business owners in the health industry. Laurie combined the resources of her corporate and personal approach, for example when she participated as a member of the start-up team for The Sports Center neighboring the studio lots of Warner Brothers, Universal, NBC, and Disney. The start-up became one of the top private clubs in Los Angeles, boasting celebrity members including David Hyde Pierce, Sherry Belafonte, Neil Patrick Harris, and Ryan Seacrest.
In 2000 Laurie went on to focus on providing personal promotions business for executives looking for a different way to hunt down new job opportunities. Her agent based representation model included a personal promotional campaign program that later went on to include social media development and management.
As Social Media and networking began to make its mark as a viable and cost-effective channel for publicity, promotion, and marketing, it became increasingly important to the reputation and promotion of executives. Laurie looked to capitalize on this emerging opportunity for those trying to navigate the wild west of Social Media. She shaped her firm into Personal PR Productions, designed to represent professionals and businesses in this new web-based world alongside traditional public relations and promotional campaign programs.
In more recent years, Laurie has specialized in helped her executive and professional clients wade through the waters to find the power of social networking in addition to online PR and Marketing --integrating these capabilities as necessary--for the creation of new and ongoing business building opportunities. Laurie knows that the power of human interaction is what propels this "social" media. It is critical to building a valued following and online presence.
